Deep ("vertical" or "butterfly") Jigging Spin Rods
All BlueWater® offshore saltwater deep ("vertical" or "butterfly") jigging spinning rods are made in keeping with a simple philosophy: pure performance. We combine our state of the art dual helix, multimodulus, carbon fiber blanks with our specialized build methods to bring you jigging rods, which are very transparent to input, have quick & positive lock-ups, and have very powerful butts. Because you will be constantly working these rods, every effort is made to eliminate unnecessary weight so that performance and transparency to input are maximized. Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Pushing the limits of bluewater spinning with up to 48 lbs. of drag requires a precise fit of the rod to both you and your particular reel. A few simple choices, included in the price of each rod, allow you to maximize the performance of your rod: choose the material and length of your fore grip; choose the material and length of your rear grip; choose your reel seat (includes matching gimbal with cover); personalize your rod with your name; and, tell us the make and model of your reel so that guide placement can be optimized.
Based upon experience, our jigging rods are made with Fuji® heavy duty silicon carbide guides (the MN, HB, LB, & HV series) and tops (the MN, HN, US, & RS series). Build details, including our 14 coat finish process, and the reasoning behind the choices BlueWater makes are detailed in The BlueWater Way. Each rod is made to order and ships in 4 to 6 weeks -- just enough time to get into shape before the real work-out begins.

*"PE" or polyethylene line ("braid," "Dyneema™") was classified under the Japanese system with single digit numbers. Originally, 1 PE = 10 Lbs.; 2PE = 20 Lbs.; etc.; thus, a PE rating of 3-6 meant 30 to 60 Lb. braid. The rating referred to the actual break strength of the braid. However, much like mono, braid usually tests 50 to 100% above its published strength and the PE numbers now mean about as much as a non-IFGA mono rating. The lure range and drag rating of the rod, commonly given in Japan, are the important pieces of information.
**Rod weight is based upon the same setup for each rod: Fuji boat reel seat + Fuji "graphite" gimbal (2.25") + 10" EVA fore grip + 12" EVA rear grip + Fuji silicon carbide guide set. The 50 & 80 Lb. rod examples' weight include an aluminum reel seat for use with the included Rod Ring™. The weight of your rod will vary with your choice of grips and reel seat.
